Hello 😊 Thank you for visiting my blog and stopping by to learn a bit more about me – I assume you may have ended up here because you were on my About page and got to know me as Katherine, the therapist.

Given that I am in the field of supporting people in their most vulnerable moments, I recognize that sharing stories can be super impactful when trying to explore a connection with someone. So, I thought it can be helpful to share a bit more of who I am as Katherine - the person. Here it goes…

I am a cancer survivor

I am a mom to 4 angel babies due to miscarriage.

I am a dog mom to Leo.

I’m a wife to my amazing husband

I am a sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. I lost my dad, grandmother (who was like a 2nd mother), and childhood dog within 3 years.

I have sat alongside many family members in hospital and know what its like to have to be the strong ones for the elders in your life during their recovery or final stages and have learned that your well-being is a priority as well.

Creativity is my escape and my outlet. I love to cook, bake, write, and design. Am I an expert? Absolutely not, but I find it freeing to express myself in various ways when I struggle to find the words to say it out loud.

While writing this, I began to reflect on all that I have gone through – the challenges, celebrations, grief, loss, and pain. I see how these experiences, including the small and quiet moments, have allowed me to grow as a person.

I always felt like that I have lived more life than a thirty-almost-forty- something should. I’m not saying it’s a competition but I often wonder “how the heck is this part of my story?!” In these moments of pain and confusion, I have (and continue) to lean on my faith. Reminding myself that God has gotten me through many storms and that focusing on the waves, rather than Him, doesn’t help me in any way. I try to appreciate His blessings, His grace, through the struggle. It’s not always top-of-mind 24/7 but I make an effort to give those things more attention. I’m not perfect, I’m still growing, still learning.

I share this in hopes that it reminds you that you are not alone. If you are looking to connect with someone that could relate, understand, or listen to your pain, questions, thoughts, and tears – you are welcome to send me a message and I’d be honoured to support you.
